Epitaph Signs “THIS CITY”
After releasing a collection of critically acclaimed, independently released singles through 2007/08, THIS CITY can now announce they have inked a deal with Epitaph Records, joining a roster of artists that include Bad Religion, Converge, Thursday, New Found Glory and more.
“On their debut album THIS CITY found the perfect synergy of the indie and punk world”, states Roger Dorresteijn of Epitaph Europe.”Their unique and energetic sound and live performances will win the hearts of many music fans.”
THIS CITY spent the first two months of 2009 in Seattle recording with legendary producer and erstwhile Minus The Bear member Matt Bayles, whose past credits include such names as Blood Brothers, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Pearl Jam, The Fall Of Troy, Soundgarden and Mastodon. The result is the exciting and fresh debut album ‘We Were Like Sharks’, which will be released in Fall 09 (exact date TBC).
The band plan on spending as much time as they can on the road in 09/10, following up previous tours and shows with the likes of Rival Schools, Kids in Glass Houses, Biffy Clyro, Sparta, As I Lay Dying and Taking Back Sunday, and the chances are they’ll be pulling up in the van at a town near you sometime soon. The band will appear at major European festivals this summer, including the Download Festival in the UK, Parklife Festival in Italy and Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium. A full list of other live dates and support slots to come soon.
