John Robb ‘in conversation’ with Patti Smith live at Sheffield Museum March 23rd
Legendary American poet musician Patti Smith will be interviewed by John Robb onstage at the 600 capacity Sheffield museum on March 23rd.
It is the first in the series of live on stage ‘in conversation’ interviews from John Robb who has written the best selling ‘punk rock an oral history’ book and produced and presented a TV series on the history of punk rock. Robb has several more similar events planned around the country in the next few months that also includes several similar events at festivals in the UK.
The broadcaster, musician, and author has pioneered such events in the last couple of years all over the world interviewing the likes of Faust. Kraftwerk, Rough Trade’s Geoff Travis, Feargal Sharkey amongst others in various locations from Oslo to Rio De Janeiro.
Robb is currently working on several projects including a new book, launching his new label Modern English Records, an upcoming Goldblade tour and a special project with his recently reformed post punk band the Membranes as well as a new TV series.
Patti Smith will be talking about her book, ‘Just Kids- a powerful and moving account of her formative relationship with New York photographer Robert Mapplethorpe and her career in detail.
