The Offspring get nostalgic
The Offspring’s first album came out in 1989 and needless to say, the songs off their earlier records now hold a bit of nostalgia for fans today. Frontman Dexter Holland threw in his two cents, saying:
“You know, people react like that as a listener and for sure, people say that about us too, songs off “Smash” for sure.”
“Smash” is the Offspring’s 1994 third album, which was a huge commercial success spawning the popular singles “Come Out and Play” and “Self Esteem”, both of which were responsible for launching the band into mainstream success with the aid of music videos directed by Darren Lavett.
The Offspring are currently touring in support of this year’s critically-acclaimed “Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace”. Rumors persist that the band will be on the road in the U.S. next year.
