Tommy Koffin leaves The Koffin Kats
Tommy has posed this news recently on tha band’s Myspace:
To my fans, friends, family, and loved ones…this is Tommy. I’ve had some of the greatest times of my life playing in this band. From traveling the world and meeting so many awesome people, to sharing the stage with some of my favorite bands and playing with two amazing musicians, Vic and E-Ball. Not only great talent but they are two of my best friends in the world. I am very lucky and grateful for what we have accomplished together in the past 6 years.
This may come as shock, but due to the band needing to tour extensively and issues I’ve been having with my knees and back, I am taking a back seat and bowing out. I love this band more then anything and would never hold them back. I’m still great friends with the guys and love the wild times we have. I just can’t hit the road anymore. May The Koffin Kats never end and only get stronger. I am sorry if this disappoints anyone but this decision really is for the better.
We have a great friend of ours coming in to fill my stinky ass shoes. His names Ian and he comes from a band called Ends In Tragedy out of ….Albuquerque.., ..New Mexico….. It didn’t take long for me and the dudes to agree that he would be the one. We have known him for years and been a fan of what he does and how well he performs. Please show him the love and respect that you have all shown me. Ya know.. hook him up… talk shit to him… buy him a beer. He’s one of us!!!
Thank you for the years of letting me be apart of your lives. It’s been amazing.

Tommy’s replacement, Ian is joining the band with plans for an EP to be released later in 2010 and they plan to tour across the US and Canada as well as Europe this year.
