Cocksparrer live in Norway © Nick Reid
This show would mark Cocksparrer’s Norwegian debut, and what an amazing gig it was. The whole evening was a glorious celebration of Oi! with the small venue filled to capacity.
Up first were Olso’s own Oi! heroes, The Whalers, and they quickly set the tone for the evening with their great set. Playing in front of their home crowd ensured everybody who was there really got into their set.

Before the main act graced the stage, Norwegian Oi! stalwarts, Cockroach Clan got up and treated the punters to an amazing set – a set that firmly showcases why they are one of the most respected Oi! bands in Norway. Frontman Billy Cockroach was in top form and along with the rest of his band mates, didn’t put a foot (or should that be note?) wrong. By the time they wrapped up their set, the atmosphere was electric, and it was only going to get more intense.
As this was their first show in Norway, the legendary Cocksparrer had the house full of fans, both new and old, many local and a handful of visitors. From the first symbol strike, through every singalong, to the final chord strummed, Cocksparrer worn their hearts on their sleeves. They played all the crowd favourites, the new songs, the classics and drove the fact home – Cocksparrer are the first and last word in the Oi! genre.
(Ed Note: This review is one of many that are finally seeing daylight due to major backlog of material)

I saw Cock Sparrer in Girona, Catalunya-so-called Spain and they were absolutely amazing. That was Saturday 3rd October and I think it was the best gig I’ve ever been. They are in top form and the audience, about 2,ooo people from everywhere, was really devoted to the band and its honesty.
