Fight Back

Fight Back
The second full length from the Newport based four piece doesn’t shy away from their obvious influences in The Clash and period peers such as Time again/ The Unseen etc. This is an album packed full of anthem lung busting and rousing songs, which is trying to capture the sign of these frustrating times and succeeds in doing so.
The title track is catchy and a venomous punk rock with Mickey’s impassioned vocals on the album without question. Yeah at times it’s a bit clichéd and stylised street punk, but its fucking catchy and packs a mighty punch with high-tempo emotional angst.
With guest appearances from Joey LaRocca from The Briggs on ‘Goodbye Inspiration’ (even the guitars on this sound like The Briggs!) and former Stubborn All-Stars and Ska legend King Django performing on ‘Manners And Respect’ there are shifts in tempo on the record and the ska fusion generally works.
Where both The Unseen and Time again do excel is in their hit ‘em hard and fast approach with too many songs on this album over extended which is shame.
