New York Dolls-UK Tour 2009

New York Dolls
The legendary New York Dolls, credited with strongly influencing the first punk generation, are returning to the UK in December.
The reunited band will be bringing the glam back to London, Bristol, Cambridge, Southampton, Liverpool, Leamington Spa and Edinburgh. The New York Dolls current line up features original members vocalist David Johansen and guitarist Sylvain Sylvain, with the addition of Steve Conte (guitar), Brian Delaney (drums) and former Hanoi Rocks bass guitarist Sami Yaffa.
They are touring in support of the latest album “Cause I Sez So”, which was produced by Todd Rundgren and released in spring 2009.
Founded in New York in the early ’70s, the band etched out a distinctive sound and look, recorded two albums – the eponymous debut and “Too Much Too Soon” before calling it a day in 1977. They first reunited in 2004, but soon lost bassist Arthur Kane to Leukemia. In 2006, Johansen and Sylvain came together again and recorded the album “One Day It Will Please Us To Remember Even This”.
Current guitarist Steve Conte also releases a solo album “Steve Conte & The Crazy Truth” on 30 November.
Support act for the London and Liverpool shows will be Urban Voodoo Machine.
