After last years sell out the Rebellion festival returns to Blackpool Winter Gardens with its most ambitious bill yet that whilst keeping the punk flavour that has made it an international success also sees some interesting additions.

This years headliners are the legendary Killing Joke with full original line up playing an exclusive festival date, and Flogging Molly- who are fresh off a number one album in America and with their folk tinged punk are a huge hit with the new generation of punk kids.

With nearly 200 bands on the bill and a sure fire 8000 sell out the festival also boasts punk legends like The Damned, The Adicts, The Exploited, the Dickies and the UK Subs, American hardcore heroes Agnostic Front, anarcho punk faves The Subhumans and big new punk names like Argy Bargy, Goldblade and Sonic Boom Six as well as Neville Staple who will be fresh from filling stadiums with The Specials. There will also be a whole host of up coming new names and mini legends from the past thirty years proving that the punk scene is in rude health.

Adrian Edmondson from the Young Ones who brings his band the Bad Shepherds to play fold versions of punk classic .

As well as countless bands from all strands of punk on an even bigger bill featuring some of the most legendary names on the punk scene for a celebration of the world’s biggest underground music scene.

Punk in the 21st century is in rude health. Worldwide a whole new generation of teenagers has been celebrating the scene making the old bands legends and bringing a whole new wave of punk action to the frey. Rebellion is the perfect reflection of this.

Now that punk is re established as an international movement, Blackpool in mid August once again become the epicentre of the whole scene with punks flying in from all over the world for one of Blackpool’s busiest weekends.
